🧠 Elite Edge – Week 42: The Quiet Build vs. The Loud Ladder — Choose Your Strategy

Welcome back to Elite Edge — where we don’t just talk about career growth, we engineer it.

This week’s theme is all about how you rise: quietly building your power behind the scenes or loudly claiming your space and story.

There’s no one right way — but there is a wrong one:

Doing excellent work and assuming someone will notice.
Spoiler: they usually won’t.

💥 The Two Strategies That Actually Work

1. 🔧 The Quiet Build (For Introverts, Operators, and Steady Climbers)

You’re the one making it all happen. No drama. No theatrics. Just execution.
But quiet doesn’t mean invisible — it means deliberate.

Here’s how to build power without the noise:

Keep a monthly Wins Log — results, praise, before/after impact
Send a Monthly Impact Email to your boss or project team
Be the go-to expert in one domain — make your value obvious
Say yes to visibility-lifting projects, not just busywork

Quiet build doesn’t mean passive. It means strategic.

2. 📣 The Loud Ladder (For Extroverts, Storytellers, and Self-Advocates)

You’ve got presence, a voice, and a message. Use it.
Not to brag — but to brand.

Here’s how to climb loudly without being obnoxious:

Narrate your impact on LinkedIn, in meetings, and in reviews
Mentor in public — on panels, podcasts, coffee chats
Show receipts — screenshots, metrics, feedback, dashboards
Own your elevator pitch — speak your value fluently and often

Loud doesn’t mean ego-driven. It means unmistakable.

💼 TL;DR: Visibility is a strategy — pick the one that fits you, and master it.

If you’re quiet, build credibility behind the scenes.
If you’re loud, build momentum in the open.
But don’t be silent. Silence doesn’t scale.

📥 THIS WEEK’S TOOL: The Power Memo Template

Whether you're advocating for a raise, pitching a project, or clarifying your value — use this format to communicate with clarity and confidence.

POWER MEMO STRUCTURE:

  • Problem: What you’re addressing

  • Opportunity: What can be improved

  • What you did: The strategy or solution

  • Evidence: Results, metrics, feedback

  • Request: What you need next (approval, resources, recognition)

Use it for performance reviews, one-pagers, or executive updates.

🛠️ CURATED COURSES

You asked — here’s a few standout recs from my shortlist:

📚What I Read This Week…

NYT Magazine: “A.I. Might Take Your Job. Here Are 22 New Ones It Could Give You.” The future of work won’t be about resisting AI—it’ll be about collaborating with it. This piece outlines three major human advantage zones: Trust, Integration, and Taste. Think: AI Auditors, Ethics Directors, Integration Specialists, and even Taste-Makers and Differentiation Designers. These aren’t far-off concepts—they’re already emerging.

🧠 TL;DR: You don’t need to out-code AI—you need to out-human it.

🎙️What I Listened to This Week… (Podcasts)

📘 Book of the Week

Your AI Survival Guide by my brilliant friend Sol Rashidi is the book I wish more business leaders would read before diving headfirst into AI.

Sol’s been in the trenches—from launching IBM Watson to leading real-world AI deployments across industries—and this book tells the truth. No hype. No jargon. Just practical frameworks, messy lessons, and real advice for making AI work in your business.

🛠️ If you’re a non-technical leader trying to make smart AI bets (without getting burned), this is your playbook.

💬 From the Community:

“Deepali, you helped me stop waiting for someone to notice. I finally pitched myself — and landed a paid advisory role.”

🧭 Final Word

Quiet power. Loud strategy.
You don’t have to change who you are — you just need to own how you move.

Choose your lane — and accelerate.

You’ve got the Edge. Now sharpen it.
