💥 Truth #11: DEI? Mostly PR.
Companies love to talk about diversity and inclusion—workshops, hashtags, polished reports. Real change? Rare. If you’re waiting for the system to fix itself, don’t hold your breath. Advocate for yourself.

💥 Truth #12: Your job description is fiction.
It’s not a contract—it’s a suggestion. If you’re good, they’ll keep piling on more work without more pay. Scope creep is real. Push back, or you’ll drown.

💥 Truth #13: Most meetings are useless.
They exist to make people feel important, not to get things done. Learn to spot the difference between decision-making and time-wasting. Skip what doesn’t move the needle.

💥 Truth #14: Your ideas aren’t safe.
Someone will try to take credit for your work. Document everything. Speak up. And if someone steals your thunder? Call them out—with receipts.

Quick side note—because I just lived this.
My “Corporate Game” video? It was based on something I wrote in my newsletter weeks ago. But another creator put out similar content. That’s reality: ideas circulate, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by coincidence.

Here’s what I’ve learned:
✅ Both things can be true. Ideas get taken, but having proof of yours matters.
✅ Choose your battles. I could’ve gotten caught up in the noise, but I didn’t. Why? Because the impact matters more than the credit.
✅ Rinse and repeat. Most ideas aren’t new. Sometimes, it takes another voice to make it click for someone.

Am I mad? No.
Do I want sole credit? Also no.
I’m mature enough to know that what really matters is impact.

Bottom line: Protect your work, but don’t let distractions pull you away from the bigger picture. Decide what hill you want to die on—and make sure it’s worth it.

Every company has issues—bad leadership, toxic culture, unrealistic expectations. Your job? Find the one where the pros outweigh the cons for you.

💥 Truth #16: Networking isn’t optional.
It’s survival. The people you know can save your career when layoffs hit or leadership changes. Stop pretending your skills alone will protect you.

💥 Truth #17: Job security doesn’t exist.
Layoffs. Budget cuts. Restructuring. It can happen to anyone. Stay ready. Always have a Plan B. If you don’t, you’re playing corporate roulette.

💥 Truth #18: The bottom line runs everything.
Mission, values, culture? Nice words. But profit is the real driver. Understand that, and you’ll understand every leadership decision.

💥 Truth #19: No one’s holding your hand.
Sink or swim—that’s how most companies operate. Don’t wait for training or mentorship. Seek it out. Own your development, or get left behind.

💥 Truth #20: Your career is YOUR responsibility.
No one cares about your growth as much as you do. If you’re waiting for someone to notice your potential, you’ll wait forever. Take charge.
